Three Peaks Challenge - 24hrs · 14 March 2010

Here at St Kentigern Hospice we offer specialist palliative care for people with life threatening or life limiting illnesses. We focus on the patient's quality of life by controlling symptoms through a holistic approach taking into account their physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We did it! 26 hours after starting the challenge we stood at the foot of Snowdon having climbed Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike in the same day.

Scafell Pike was climbed in complete darkness at 1.30am, in thick cloud on an icey surface meaning it took us around 2-3 hours longer than it would normally have done; hence not quite meeting the 24hour target, but nevertheless, an excellent effort by all. We all had a great time during the challenge, and more importantly raised a lot of money for a fantastic cause, and the donations are still coming in.

I'll write up a full account of our challenge once I have pictures online

We did this challenge in loving memory of Meirion Casey (Kevin's dad) who spent his final days in the care of the wonderful staff at St Kentigerns, and who's passion for mountain walks echoed his passion for life.
