The Buxton Mountain Rescue Team carry out vital sometimes life-saving activities in an area of over 400 square miles of the Peak District and surrounding area.   BMRT work in coordination with the police and other agencies to locate and recover lost or injured people from remote places in the Peak District and surrounding areas.

BMRT is a charity and totally dependent on donations from the public. It costs around £30,000 per annum to maintain the service which must be raised through their own efforts.
