Hello There

My name is Mel, mother of Lois who joined last September and has settled brilliantly in to class 7F. As well as mum to Lois and her big brother Cameron I also work part time and my other big love is running.

I started running regularly 4 years ago and since then have competed in various events including locals such as The Wooburn 10K, Marlow 5 and both the Wycombe and Marlow Half Marathons.  I really love to run and have found it’s a great way to keep fit, make friends and have a catch up, something my friends and I do whilst we run.

Somehow my friends convinced me to take on what I know will be my biggest challenge yet in competing in this years London Marathon. The thought of 26 miles is scary so to ensure I had something to take my mind off the distance I decided I would enter on behalf of a charity, that way I knew I would have a real purpose and something to really focus on.

With the help of ’s JustGiving page I am raising money on behalf of a charity called Whizz-Kidz who provide mobility for disabled children. They are a great charity as they ensure these kids get the chance to be more active have lots of fun and get involved in all kinds of sports just like so many other children do.

When I told I was running they very kindly offered to support me by promoting my fundraising efforts to parents and staff. In return I will give 50% of the monies raised to WHS and the other 50% would go towards Whizz-Kidz.

This is where you all come in. Please donate whatever you can. I really mean it when I say that no amount is too small. Not only will you be helping me in my mission to raise money for these lovely children who do really need our support you will also be helping Wycombe High School with all the wonderful causes they take on.
