One Opportunity can change everything. With the right tools and support, people can build more than income. They build futures. For over 50 years, Opportunity has walked alongside people as they unlock change, one opportunity at a time, through microfinance, training and support.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

I am looking to raise money for an amazing charity called Opportunity International (OI). They are a pioneer and global leader in the provision of financial services and training to entrepreneurs below the poverty line in 28 countries across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America.

It gives some of the poorest people in the world access to the financial services they need to lift themselves out of poverty and develop their small businesses in a way that fosters economic, social and spiritual growth.

While charity can create dependence, (OI) helps people to achieve dignity and self-esteem by supporting their families through their own hard work.

I have committed to take part in a fire walk, so the idea is that you walk barefoot over a strip of hot wood embers, whilst still smiling! (If you have survived childbirth, it will be a mere breeze!) The event will take place on Thursday 28th January at Bristol City football ground.

I have set a target of £250 and would really appreciate any donations that you would make towards this excellent cause.

Wish me luck!
