<p>Dear Friends and Family,</p>
<p>We are so excited for our wedding and that you will be a part of it.</p>
<p>We are counting down the days until 4 November 2011!</p>
<p>We decided that between homes in London and Paris, we have enough stuff (too much, in fact!) and kindly request that you please donate what you would have spent on a wedding gift to our favourite charities.<strong> Cool Earth</strong> is one of them.</p>
<p>We have both supported Cool Earth for many years, since it is an organisation that acts on the belief that rainforests are worth much more left standing - both for the planet and for local communities - than they are cut down. Cool Earth aims to price deforestation out of the market by using the money donated to secure land that would otherwise be sold to loggers and ranchers.</p>
<p>Cool Earth currently targets areas of high biodiversity in the tropical forest regions of Ecuador and Peru. Money is placed in a local trust with communities as legal custodians of this land. And through community rangers and satellite imagery, the protected areas are monitored and protected from illegal activity around the clock.</p>
