Well folks, we did it! On 02.11.09 a crack team of karaoke enthusiasts and fundraisers descended on Lucky Voice, Islington.  And for TEN HOURS we sang our little hearts out!

I've put a bunch of photos up here for you to peruse and get an idea of the afternoon / evening.  If you sponsored me to sing a particular song there should be at least one photo there proving I did so!

Don't forget, you can still continue to donate to Just for Kids Law via this page, even though the singing is over.

Songs I had a hand in singing included: Don't Stop Me Now, Friday I'm In Love, New York New York, Bright Side of Life, Dancing Queen, Smile, Go West, Mr Brightside, Wannabe, Relight My Fire, Go Your Own Way, Tubthumping, Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polkadot Bikini, I Believe I Can Fly, YMCA, Ain't no Mountain High Enough, Staying Alive, Boom Boom Boom, I Kissed a Girl (CFS Version), American Pie, Africa, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Wonderboy, Because the Night, Do They Know it's Christmas Time, Fairytale of New York, Beautiful, Don't Look Back into the Sun..... and many, many more.

Just for Kids Law is a London-based charity giving advice and support to young people who really need it.

Below are a couple of examples of just where your donation could go:

One of our clients was defined as a persistent young offender in 2006 and homeless by 2007, he decided he wanted to turn his life around. We spent 250 pounds paying for him to take driving lessons and pass his drving test, as a result of having his licence he was able to get a job, has been in full time employment for over 18 months and has not been back before the Courts.

It was discovered that 2 of our young clients had recently moved from living with their father to living with their mother - we found that they had no beds to sleep on and were sleeping on the floor. Social services refused to buy them beds - we spent 200 pounds to buy bunkbeds for them both.

One of the young girls that we were working with had left home due to an abusive relationship, she was provided with accomodation by social services but she had no money to buy food and was too young to claim benefits. We spent 30 pounds on food from the supermarket to last her a week.

[And a little small print: JustGiving is a secure site, and all money goes straight to the charity, with Gift Aid on every eligible donation.  If you'd rather sponsor me in person though, please do!]
