Story

On Saturday 26th May 2018

We are a group of physio friends who have known Mel for over 25 years – since college and our first post grad physio jobs.

Over the years contact became the occasional message and Christmas card, life is busy and you always think there’ll be time to catch up again later. We were all stunned when we heard the news of Mel’s diagnosis, and the realization that there isn’t always that time. Despite our lives taking us in different directions a strong bond of genuine love and friendship has remained.

Inspired by her story, amazing energy, and fundraising efforts we wanted to contribute. We decided to find a challenge that would take us out of our comfort zone. Obviously swimming the channel and climbing Kilimanjaro were high on our list, but thought we’d stay closer to Brighton where we had worked, played, and laughed so much together all those years ago.

So on Saturday 26th May 2018 we shall be embarking on The Ultra Challenge overnight hike – 100km Capital to Coast , London to Brighton. After all, a group of Physios – what could possibly go wrong…?

This is for you Mel. Your energy, smile, laughter and love will keep us on track.

Please read Mel’s story ‘I am a warrior. Let me be me’. Please give whatever you can to raise funds and awareness for Sarcoma UK.
Thank you,

Mel’s Walking Warriors

Carolyn, Sam and Sharon
