The Boys have made it to Sheepwash AND some have run the Herts 10K!!!!!

To date, including Gift Aid, OVER £10K has been raised!!

Following the phenomenal effort up some of the steepest hills I have ever driven up - how the "Magnificent 7" cycled up them, I really don't know, Buntie, Stella, Bomber and a few others decided to run the Herts 10K - (and actually did it) - (successfully I hasten to add).

Now cycling I understand but running?????  The cycling story follows below....

The riders were: Mark Bunting, Rob Walter, Chris Parker, David Clamp, Nick Bennett, Paul Wilkinson and Phil Smith (now known as the Mountain Goat for his uphill prowess!).

At around 6.40 pm on Saturday the 10th of July, to the tune of the Magnificent 7 blaring out of Rookie's loudspeakers on his bike, they arrived at the Half Moon Pub in Sheepwash.

Our great buddy Ian "Westy" West passed away from pancreatic cancer at a very young age and was always raving about the care and support he found at Grove House, so once again thanks to everyone who has donated and also to the cyclists who have funded themselves all of the way.

There are tales of derring do along the way, daily awards for - mainly Smudger  - making a muck up of something - like perhaps forgetting a piece of luggage almost every morning, and a classic 1/2 hour period on the final day when they managed to stop off at a cider factory and have a cream tea in two separate places....

Finally, we recently played our annual golf day and as usual tried to raise money by selling off "mulligans" at £5.00 each.  A mulligan is the opportunity to replay a bad shot without it being added to the number of shots played.  This brought in a further £360 for Grove House

Thanks again for your donations - they make a massive difference to Grove House
