Ruby Red Ball hosted by The Merry Fiddlers · 27 June 2015

Donations are paid into Solving Kids' Cancer’s general funds for our charitable activities. We help families affected by neuroblastoma through the provision of support and information; as well as investing in research and advocating for access to better treatment

Story

Ruby Laura Young is an innocent, bright blue eyed,  3 year  old girl who should be enjoying life and looking forward to all the years to come. But no thanks to Cancer, Ruby is currently under going chemotherapy to fight her stage 4 Neuroblastoma (a rare childhood cancer). Ruby's previous chemo did not help her condition and if her current chemo also fails she will need treatment in America to give her the best possible chance of survival. In order to be treated at the specialist clinic in New York Ruby needs to raise £500,000 via the NCCA UK charity that will be funding the treatment.  Chemotherapy is a harsh treatment that has resulted in Ruby's hair loss and attacks all other parts of the body, the success rates aren't very optimistic. The treatment in America is Ruby's biggest hope of smashing cancer and we are fundraising to help Ruby reach her target.

The Ruby Red Ball held at The Merry Fiddlers in Epping included a champagne reception, a raffle and an auction including signed football memorabilia.

If you couldn't attend the ball you can donate as little as £2 by clicking the link below to support this cause. Every single pound everyone donates adds up and will help give Ruby the best possible chance at life.  Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Big THANK you to Katie Parker on the sax, DJ Chilli, Magic Fingers @mimi_bespokecards and @tibs_events for providing a great service free of charge for Ruby x

I would like to share a special mention to Sharon James, Shazza... The land lady of The Merry Fiddlers. She worked really hard raising money for the event, getting people to come along, decorating the area and supporting Ria 100% at both the ball and the picnic for Ruby's birthday.  Sharon sadly passed away unexpectedly, 9 months after the ball and her kind heart will never be forgotten.  Xx
