Virgin London Marathon 2011 · 17 April 2011 ·

The nation’s leading first aid charity. Every year, more than 400,000 people learn how to save a life through our training programmes. Our volunteers provide first aid in their communities and thanks to them fewer lives will be lost needlessly. Raise money. Help save lives. Be the difference.

Story

NOTE: Still open for donations!

Done! 26.2 miles!!! It hurt a lot, but I am very happy I did it! Thank you so much to all of you who donated and supported me throughout the training and on the day - really really appreciated!

I was proud to run for St John Ambulance and saw what a difference they made just on that one day. If you haven't donated yet, then I would be grateful if you can help to reach my fundraising target - your money will go to supporting St John Ambulance's lifesaving work - every year up to 150,000 people die in situations where first aid could have given them a chance to live. St John Ambulance teaches people first aid so that they can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

Their volunteers provide first aid at events like the London Marathon and their presence is integral to making the event a success and allowing thousands of people to raise money for all kinds of good causes. Living by a football ground, I am aware of St John Ambulance's presence every week, and am always impressed with their commitment to providing vital first aid backup so people can safely attend and enjoy the matches. I will be proud to run for them on the day and hope you will join me in supporting them.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
