Story
The Homeless World Cup Foundation uses football to energise homeless people to change their own lives.
We work with and support a network of 73 international partner organisations whose goal is to improve the lives of the people using football as the catalyst. Our main role is to unite these organisations and to provide support and guidance in football and management skills to help grow and develop sustainable programmes to involve and positively impact the lives of more homeless and excluded people around the world.
At the annual Homeless World Cup tournament the International Partners come together to showcase their work to the world and give their people an opportunity to demonstrate how football has the power to change lives.
The Mexico City 2012 Homeless World Cup tournament will take place at Plaza de la Constitución, Zócalo, from 6- 14 October 2012.
It will be the Homeless World Cup 10th anniversary!
Today, we are fundraising in the lead-up to the event and need your help. Every contribution makes a massive difference and will help us put up a life changing event for all the players participating.
Last year, for the Paris 2011 Homeless World Cup, we used part of the money fundraised before the event, to help get some teams to the tournament! Team Cambodia was one of them.
Jacqueline, from the Global Giving team-where we fundraised-paid our partner in Cambodia a visit to see the impact of the tournament and of the donations! You can read her post here.
Your help is vital and we are counting on you for an incredible event in Mexico, changing lives through football.
