I am slightly tentative about this as my challenge is considerably less than that faced by the team led by my friend Jon Powell. Jon is leading a team of 10 people who are actually climbing the 3 Peaks - Ben Nevis (1344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1085m) – all within a 24 hour period. They are doing this in conjunction with the </span><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #c00000; font-family: Arial;">Norfolk Heart Trust</span></strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;"> for their “</span><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #c00000; font-family: Arial;">Sparks 4 Hearts</span></strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;">” appeal.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;">I couldn’t do the climbing. Realistically it would probably take me 3 weeks to do one peak, let alone three in 24 hours. However, I am one of the two drivers who will take them there, bring them back and get them between the peaks as fast (and legally) as possible. I estimate the total drive will be about 1300 miles. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: Arial;">I will also be in charge of “Base Camp” as it were, making sure everything runs smoothly, having food and drink ready for the team when they come down and acting as liaison in case of any emergency. I am a trained Community First Responder with the ambulance service though I hope my skills in this area won’t be needed on this occasion. </span></p>
