Story
Thanks for getting this far and taking the time to look at my Just Giving page.
I am hoping that, having done so, you will consider helping me to support the Marie Curie organisation. When my Dad was so ill that his caring needs were almost too much for us to deal with on our own, the Marie Curie nurses provided support, not only to Dad but also, as a result, to myself and the rest of the family. That support meant that we could spend time being with, rather than just caring for, Dad. It allowed us the luxury of enjoying what was left of his time with us, rather that focusing solely on caring for him. Whilst I could never describe that time as pleasant, I can now think of his last weeks with us as a blessing and that is, in no small way, down to the professional and caring Marie Curie nurses.
Running the Great North Run and trying to raise as much as I can for Marie Curie is a way of saying thank you to them and the whole organisation, as well as a way of celebrating Dad's time with us.
