Mick's climb Cotopaxi for my donor

Heart and Lung transplantees climb Cotopaxi 2015 · 26 June 2015
In 1988 I moved to Cornwall from Staffordshire with my wife & 4 years old son, within a few weeks I had lost my dear wife of 24 years of marriage from brain tumour. The stress of losing my wife and trying to bring up my son on my own, plus trying to work at the same time, took its toll and I had a major heart attack.
The Doctor said my only hope was to go on the heart transplant list. I was very weak, lethargic, couldn't eat, only had tiny amount of fluid at a time. Unable to walk even a few yards.
In 1993 I had my heart transplant, when I woke from my operation, my very first cup of tea tasted absolutely wonderful. My donor was a 14 years old boy, and I am for ever grateful to him and his family for giving me a second life.
I had my transplant at Harefield Hospital, many thanks to them too, and they do a tremendous job.
I am a self employed builder, have been all my life, I remarried in 2013 to my young wife Patsy, I am now 70 yrs old and would like to attempt this expedition in memory of my donor.
So please help me by sponsoring me to help others to raise lots of money for future technology to save life's, and spread awareness of Organ donations.
