At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

Hi,

You may ask why I am doing this; well a work colleague sent an email asking for sponsorship, so I gladly donated to this amazing cause. Then I thought I would like to give a bit more so decided to take up the challenge as well.

So it's time for my derriere to get off the chair, as many of you think the furthest I can walk is from the office to the tearoom, and on occasions you may be right. With 80% of the office being very active, it's now time the 20% 'Me' got into shape. The challenge is a 27 mile trek across the Brecon's in 12 hours. I will be joining Team Leo to raise funds for CLIC Sargent, a fantastic charity that supports children and young people with cancer.

We will be crossing the 4 highest peaks in the Brecon's including Pen y Fan where the SAS train. This is going to be an exhilarating experience but physically and mentally demanding.

Ricky has volunteered to act as my trainer, can't wait for the weighted vest mate! My Golden Retriever, Hardy, will be accompanying  me on the long daily wet walks. With these two on board there will be no let-up in my training, so out go the chocolate biscuits and doughnuts, in come the healthy options, digestive biscuits and ring doughnuts. Hey, you got to start somewhere.

Any donation will be gladly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.
