Story

Not many people run 100 mile races; fewer still do 100 mile runs which involve 25,000 feet of climbing, I wonder just how many people with clubbed feet have done so...

Born with a severe clubbed foot on my left leg I was exceptionally lucky to have access to first rate health care. I had 5 operations, countless hours of physio and various other professionals working together to ensure that I was able to live a life free from disability. They were remarkably successful and I find myself doing longer and longer races just to see how far my leg will carry me!

This year's challenge is the Lakeland 100 which claims to be one of the toughest in Europe and has a 50-60% success rate. It seems fitting that I run this race for Feet First; a charity who do amazing work in developing countries such as Malawi in developing treatments for club foot. Their work means that many children who would otherwise face a life of disability will be able to get access to treatment which they could not otherwise afford.

So please consider donating to this important charity and ensuring that children born without the advantages I had are also able to overcome their clubbed feet.
