My story

Thank you for visiting this web page in memory of our son Robbie Sherriff Livingstone.

Robbie was our first child, a 7lb 5 oz boy with dark hair, his mum’s chin and his dad’s nose. He died one year ago on 26 October 2009. It was an incredibly sad time for us and has been an extremely emotional year. I'd like to take this chance to say thanks to everybody for all of the kind words, support and love they have given throughout the year. One of the few positives that have come out of this has been the confirmation that when something terrible happened to us, our friends really were there to look after us.

With this we wanted to ask you all to help us to raise some money for the ‘Whittington Hospital Charitable Fund’ to Mark Robbie’s first birthday. It would be great for something positive to come from Robbie's death, which is why we've set up this page.

When Robbie died during Ellie's labour it came as a huge shock to us. We knew that Robbie would be dead when he was born and had to get our heads around the death of our son a few hours before we first met him. It's a terrible situation to be in, but the staff at Whittington Hospital somehow managed to help us through this intensely traumatic time. It was desperately sad, but with the guidance of the people around us Robbie's birth was somehow also an incredibly happy moment that Ellie and I will always cherish.

For a year now, we have continued to receive support from the staff at the Whittington Hospital Maternity Unit. In the month immediately after Robbie's death we were given counselling, medical help, assistance in arranging Robbie's funeral and we continue to receive support in dealing with his death as well as extra medical support for Ellie's pregnancy with our second child.

The service offered by The Whittington is amazing. We have found it hugely reassuring to know that in this country, anybody who goes through what we went through will be looked after in the same way we were, and we would like it to stay that way for as long as possible. All of the money donated by you here will go directly towards the continued provision of these services, so please donate some money if you can, it would mean a great deal to us.

This is a Just Giving page and donating through them is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe and they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
