Hi folks,
My good friend and colleague Helen has persuaded me to go on a "little bike ride around London - perfect for tourists" to raise some money for her charity in Uganda.
Turned out the "little ride" is **100km** long, starting at midnight. Oh Lordy what have I done... :)
The Nightrider bike challenge is cycling 100 km around the streets of London during the night of 11th June 2011 in support of UDS (Uganda Development Services). UDS is a really great charity that helps families in rural Uganda who are in severe poverty through the provision of water tanks, smokeless ovens inside home, farming support, IT and literacy support too… all great stuff!:)
No amount is too small...equally there is no obligation. £5 could provide a school text books,£25 could train a farmer with skills to bring his earnings above a dollar a day or £250 could build a water storage tank for rainwater collection for a family.
If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift to UDS, at no cost to you. 65% of every £, Euro, or dollar you donate will be matched through Microsoft's generosity.... £1 becomes £2! Voila.
Thank you for your support!
