CIEH Emergency & Reconstruction Fund · 26 July 2009

The Emergency and Reconstruction Fund has been established to help projects in countries where the environmental and public health infrastructure has broken down (or barely exists) due to natural disaster or political upheaval.

Story

Hi all,

I'm taking part in a 55 mile bicycle ride on 26th July 2009 to raise money for the CIEH Emergency and Reconstruction Fund and I'd really appreciate your support.

While the UK is experiencing a recession, we remain a rich country where most people have access to the basic essentials of life like clean water and safe food. If there is a natural disaster or political upheaval that leads to a breakdown in public health we have the resources to help people and communities recover. This is not the case for millions around the world where 852 million people do not have enough to eat, 1.3 billion have no safe water, 2 billion have no access to electricity (Christian Aid) and at least 2.6 billion people – some 41 percent of the global population - do not have access to latrines or any sort of basic sanitation facilities (WHO).

It's easy to donate online with a credit or debit card - just go to my JustGiving page: http://www.justgiving.com/Michael-Reilly

JustGiving sends your donation straight to CIEH Emergency & Reconstruction Fund and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you're a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more. I hope you'll join me in supporting CIEH Emergency & Reconstruction Fund.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you for your help,

Michael Reilly
