So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

My name is Michael Seggie;I have just reached the age of fifty and was contemplating my next challenge.Whilst on facebook I noticed that Finchale College were looking for people to enter the Great North Run.I thought that this would be a great way of giving back as way of saying a big thank you to Finchale for supporting me whilst attending the College.

I have been a student at Finchale and am nearing the end of my Diploma in Horticulture. Why Horticulture?I chose this course for two main reasons, the first being my disability with depression and anxiety.I have read a lot of books and talked to lots of people who say that gardening is a really good therapy. The second reason is because I really like working in the great outdoors and enjoy cultivating a variety of plants from seedlings and nurturing them throughout their growth.I have worked on a variety of projects around the college 13 acre site, clearing shrubbery and trees, laying turf and hard landscaping.I have also had the opportunity to attend the Harrogate Autumn flower show where we attained a Silver Gilt award.

The College has been a good help to me in gaining further experience and developing my skills and knowledge.Moving on I look forward to putting this into practice and gaining full time employment.
