Mountain Rescue:

Your sponsorship is important to Lake District Mountain Rescue Teams. Each year, this beautiful area attracts over 5 million visitors, because of its breathtaking scenery, and encourages all sorts of people to participate actively outdoors. But each year over 30 people die in accidents on the mountains and thousands are badly injured. Mountain Rescue teams are all unpaid very brave volunteers who risk their lives night and day, summer and freezing winter in terrible conditions, to help ordinary people who have got into trouble.

Our Story:

Would ewe baalieve it? 500 bangers racing across deserts, plains, mountains, over rivers, along Marco Polo's Silk Route to the heart of Genghis Khan's empire - 8000 miles in a car barely the length of a mini! Our trusty 15 year old ram, all 1100cc of it, cost £1200 off Ebay; as it is so ridiculously expensive, we decided to double the challenge and drive back as well! In all, 16000 miles, 2/3 of the way around the globe - aiming to do it in just 8 weeks...! Driving night and day, through sandstorms and probably in circles, across Europe, Ukraine, Russia, right across Kazakhstan (Borat country) - the 9th largest country in the world - into Siberia, then up through 4000m high mountains in the wild west of Mongolia, before tackling the epic Gobi. No back up crews, support or event check points. No hotels either.

All sponsors over £250 get mammoth advertising to corners of the world you would not otherwise reach. How else would you advertise to Mongolian nomads, Kazakh herdsmen, or the Russian police? Each sponsor over £250 get a unique souvenir from the country of their choice. All other sponsors over £15 gets their message on the car, and everyone is entered into a draw for a special souvenir. All sponsors over £100 get a unique digital photo diary showing their logo on the car in some of the amazing locations in the world, for your own promotional uses or interest.
