Story
What is this?
I'm going to Uganda in November with Ogilvy to help build a secondary school for 450 children. This page is to raise money directly for the charity - not for my flights.
What do you want from me?
Your undying love and support, which you are invited to express through pecuniary means. All money raised on this site goes straight into the charity's account. So, cash, in case you didn't get that.
Can you just buy me a pint instead of donating?
No.
So what exactly are you doing again?
We’re going to build a secondary school for 450 children in Buikwe, a
small town in Southern Uganda. Once the
school is built, we’ll move onto other projects – building an orphanage, for
example, or funding new farm machinery, or boring wells. And everything’s going to be hands on. Ogilvy is sending 12 people to Uganda for one week,
three times a year, to help with the projects.
In the long term, we’re trying to build community links between and
Ogilvy.
Why Uganda?
There simply aren’t enough schools in Uganda, and the children who do
manage to get an education largely have to leave at 14 to work in manual labour
to support their families.
Will you guilt trip me again if I contribute now?
I can say with 100% certainty that I probably won't.
And the boring stuff.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
