Each year my son's school takes part in the Great Curry Run and as a new parent I am joining this fundraiser. This event is a major fundraiser for The Soldiers Charity, which supports serving and retired soldiers and their families. </span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black; font-size: 11.5pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black; font-size: 9pt; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">We aim to run, walk or stagger (in my advanced body age!) 22.09km - which is an odd distance, but it represents 10 metres for each of the service men and women killed or wounded in Afghanistan since 2001 and put like that, I had to take part. As many of you know this is a charity close to my heart, being the son of a career soldier and a mother who has given a great deal of her time to the Royal British Legion. It’s now my turn!</span></span></p>
