My first baby, Nathan, was born unexpectedly at just 24 weeks gestation - a whole 4 months early. He needed intensive care for 5 months before he was strong enough to come home on oxygen.  He received excellent medical care from the NHS at 3 hospitals, and he not only survived but thrived.  The doctors and nurses looked after Nathan, but Bliss looked after me and my husband.  They provided a helpline we could call, an online message board, lots of information and support, and a way to contact other families who had been through the same experience.

Bliss also fund research into improving outcomes for sick babies, and into preventing premature birth in the first place.  They run training for medical professionals, ensuring best practise is rolled out into actual care in hospitals.
