Hi Everyone

 

No, I haven’t gone mad before you ask or applying to be in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie or Seaside Rescue, but on Saturday 23 July I will be joining a crew with the aim of sailing from Southampton across the English Channel to Cherbourg on the northern coast of France in a Yacht !! Weather permitting it should take approximately 24 hours to sail there and back.  Eeekk !!!!

 

I’ve never done anything like this before, but it’s all for a excellent cause to raise money for Addenbrookes Hospital, who are in need of a new surgical robot.

 

The robot is used to treat people with Cancer such as prostate, testicular, kidney and bowel, this technique offers several advantages – namely that recovery times are faster; so rehabilitation is quicker; post-operative infection is reduced; and the whole process is less traumatic.
