Running for Charlie and Alder Hey Children's Hospital
The challenge
Over the next few months Michelle will be completing a series of runs of various distances totalling a distance of 100 kilometres. This will include as much running as I can fit in locally and some organised events such as the Haydock 10k in July concluding with the last 10k of the challenge at the Wigan 10k in September.
Since posting the page yesterday a number Charlie's family and friends have decided to join in the run. Each pledging to run at least 1 of the 10k races including Charlie's mum Siobhan, Charlie's Aunty Hayley.
Team Charlie: Siobhan Powell, Hayley Moran, Kevin Powell, Michelle Hart, Laura Jones, Rachel Fitgerald, Kerry Sewill, Paul Sewill, Emily Powell, Clair Johnson, Ashlee Brownell, Siobhan Darbey

The inspiration behind our challenge:
Charlie is 2 years old, he has recently been diagnosed with (AML) acute myeloid leukemia at Alder Hey Childrens Hospital. Leukaemia is cancer of the white blood cells. Acute leukaemia means the condition progresses rapidly and aggressively and requires immediate treatment. Acute leukaemia is an uncommon type of cancer. In the UK, around 7,600 people are diagnosed each year with leukaemia. Of those, about 2,300 people have acute myeloid leukaemia with only 80 cases a year being diagnosed in children.
Charlie started his treatment immediatley, he has had an amazing response to his chemotherapy which has killed off over 85% of the Leukaemia cells in the first few days.
Charlie, his family and the medical team at Alder Hey still have a long road to travel to get him back to full health, but they are fighing hard and doing an amazing job!
It means a lot to his family and friends to be able to help raise money for Alder Hey Children's Hospital to say thank you for the amazing care and treatment he is receiving.
Please help by donating anything you can spare no matter how big or small. Thank you xx
