Five years ago I got good news and I made a conscious decision to do some good! Time to stop shouting at the tv and do stuff that makes a difference. Id been given the ‘5 years in remission’ talk by my doc and I thought WTF! It’s been a good 5 years, really good, blessed but tough. I’ve learnt that overcoming the physical is only half the battle! Sometimes the battles we face in our heads are the biggest mountains of all.
Everyone I know has been affected in some way by mental health issues. It might be you that’s lost your way, it might be someone you love, it might be something you read in the news about someone that didn’t make it. Broken hearts, broken lives and huge mountains to climb. I’m doing this for those I know and love and the strangers I don’t know. We need to look out for each other, judge less, love and care more and be brave, not be ashamed or scared. One step at a time, holding on tight and never giving up.
MIND can help us all do this! So, whether it’s the gorgeous big green, rocky mountains out there in our wonderful world or the huge black never ending ones in your head, this is for you.
