Michelle Lester's Pylon Climb

Pylon Climb · 15 June 2017
For those that know me well, you'll know I love a challenge and over the years I've done various challenges to help raise money for lots of good causes.
I've ran half marathons, 10k's, I've lifted weights and I've climbed Ben Nevis however, this year I wanted to do something completely different which is why I jumped at the chance to climb a pylon to help raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
The highest thing I've ever climbed was a telegraph pole standing at a mere 18.28 metres in comparison to a pylon which is over 36 metres high!
I've absolutely no idea how I'll react to this challenge but, rest assured I'm always determined to complete challenges regardless of the pain or fear and in particular when people have sponsored me.
That's where I need your help. I need to raise at least £300 but, obviously I'd like to raise much more than that.
Dementia is a syndrome, usually of a chronic or progressive nature, caused by a variety of brain illnesses that affect memory, thinking, behaviour and ability to perform everyday tasks.
There are currently 850,000 people living with dementia and by 2020 this is set to go up to 1.4 million. It is estimated that one person is diagnosed with dementia every three minutes!
Every penny you donate to Alzheimer’s Society is making sure we can be there for people affected by dementia. For every £20 the Alzheimer’s Society receives, it enables one hour of care to be provided to a patient.
So please donate what you can to support a good cause and to spur me on with my challenge.
Thanks,
Chelle.
