Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Myself along with a fantastic group of amazing ladies are undertaking the challenge, be it walking, running (or getting carried in my case!) across the finish line of the Glasgow Woman's 10K on May 17th 2015, for the ARCHIE foundation and the Beatson Cancer Centre, in honour of two inspirational females who together have shown strength and determination in all battles thrown their way.
ARCHIE is the charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital, which has became a second home to my family over the past two years caring for my daughter Carla. She is the most incredible little girl who struggles daily with an aura of health complications, yet is the happiest angel with the most infectious laugh that melts my heart. Since my 12 week scan it has been a rollercoaster of uncertainty and worry. Carla has proven at every stage a fighter and has been blessed to get to where we are today. Although still officially undiagnosed, I beam with pride every time I see her accomplish new things, even the small things we all take for granted. She is a miracle that we have been blessed to have in our lives. ARCHIE is our support when we stay at RACH, providing accommodation, toys and play specialists etc. Please dig deep to help the sick kids of the north east, it's really appreciated!
Beaston Cancer Centre is the place where I recently witnessed an incredible woman, my darling auntie, lose her fight with breast cancer on Saturday 31st January. She was only 52. My auntie Frances being an amazing nurse and extremely caring person herself, knew what it was like to care for those in need, and the staff at the Beatson demonstrated the same love and care for her in return. I have had the privileged of having her as not only my auntie, godmother but also as a "second mum". I cannot explain the void in our families hearts. She is very much missed. Her darling daughter Fiona will be running with her mum's memory in her heart. It is therefore in her name and memory I ask you to dig deep too, so the staff at the Beatson can continue giving the excellent care that she received. It is once again really appreciated!
Thank you also to "my Belles!" I am so grateful to you all for supporting me and these great causes. And finally here's to Carla and Frances, two remarkable people who have shown me what it's like to be strong and make the most of every moment in life, cause you never know the moment it can all change. I have been blessed to call them my family.
Thank you for any donations, your small change can make big changes to those affected with ill health. xxxx
