Story

Hi guys and gals

After completing the Great North Run in September last year, I'm now set to fly the flag for Lily once again when I take part in the London Marathon on the 22 April 2012!

Why??? To raise money for The Lily Foundation, a local charity set up in memory of a beautiful baby girl called Lily Merritt, who sadly died at the tender age of 8 months old from Mitochondrial disease.

Mitochondrial disease is a chronic, genetic disorder that occurs when the mitochondria of the cell fails to produce enough energy for cell or organ function. It is a very rare disease and symptoms can begin at any age. Currently there is no cure for this disease.

The Lily Foundation is committed to finding a cure for Mitochondrial Disease and all the money raised will help fund research, train doctors and support other families with sick children. With your help and support we can really make a difference to the children and families living with this awful disease.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you for your continued support.

Much love
