Wow! Thank you to all my wonderful generous friends & family who have already sponsored me. I'm quarter of the way to my target already! It's freezing outside and training I'd starting to bite now people... Show me some love!! Can 100 of you spare a tenner today??

Hello friends,

2012 was a tough year for me. I lost four friends & colleagues along the way. All too young & too soon.

My friend Paul Shyvers lost his brave battle with cancer in November. He was a wonderful, wonderful man. A husband & father of two and only 41. Paul was a bright light, a creative genius, a live music director with so much more to show the world.

I'd started running a couple of years ago, as many of you know....part of a journey to losing weight and being fitter...making sure I'd be around for my kids for as long as I could be. I'd take part in Cancer Research 'Race for Life' events, and as Paul embarked on his fight with cancer I'd run in honour of his fight & we'd text to and fro in support of each other.

Whenever it hurt, whenever I found it hard to catch my breath I'd think of Paul and the monumental hill he was having to climb. I'd always run that little bit faster, that little bit longer because of him.

Now he's gone I feel duty bound to keep on running that little bit longer still.... 26.2 miles in fact. I'm running the London Marathon on 21st April this year to raise money for Macmillian Cancer Support who provide advice, support & nursing care for cancer sufferers & their families in their hour of greatest need.

Cancer affects 1 in 3 people in the UK. It will affect all of us at some time in our lives. Charities like Macmillian are there for all if us and rely on your generous donations to carry on being there 'every step of the way'. Because of his vibrant personality Paul was never alone, he had an army of support, but some face cancer alone. Macmillian is there for them.

Please, dig deep, help me honour my friend by raising money for this brilliant charity.

I will be running with Tim Cross, William MacLachlan, Scott Swift in my heart as well. Rest in Peace.

Love

Michelle
