Story

I somehow managed to get talked into doing the Nokia Coast to Coast challenge in Scotland which covers over 100 miles by my friend who I am completing this with. The challenge is over two days and involves running, cycling and kayaking. This is a major challenge for me as I have only ever completed the moonwalk marathon and I could hardly walk after that! And the weekend after the 100 mile challenge I have a half marathon (Nike run to the beat), I am hoping I will be in some kind of state to run this!

I have chosen two charities to support, The Parachute Regiment Charity and The Royal Marine Charity (I know how much abuse I will get but its water off a ducks back now :-) ). I have had to set up two pages which isn’t overly helpful but you can’t have one page for two charities. So donate to either or if you have no preference please can you divide your donation and share between the two charities.

The reason for my choices is that the paras and marines are the most used regiments due to their training and invariably are doing the most dangerous jobs. I also went to Iraq with 4 Para in 2005 and nothing compares you when you get a call from my then partner in the paras, saying I don’t want to worry you but I am in the hospital in Bastion as I was blown up by an IED – thankfully he was ok. With regards to the Royal Marines my dad was in 42 Commando.

Please note the parachute regiment charity covers airborne forces.

Please give as generously as you can and thank you for all your support :-)
