Story
We are raising money for Brain Tumour UK by taking part in RelayGB - Britain’s first world record attempt for the most non-stop marathons.
Our chosen leg of the relay is from just outside Beauly to Nairn, starting at 5am on Tuesday 15th May 2012. We're a group of colleagues from Microbiology Department in Raigmore Hospital, running in memory of our boss Dr Andrew Hay who passed away after an inspiring fight. In running order, the team comprises Alison MacDonald, Veronica Rich, Emma Watson, Lynda Davidson, Chris Robertson, Roger Evans, Alison MacLean, Diane Stark, Lorraine McKee and Rachel Milner. Each runner is completing between 1 and 4 miles so it's a real team effort.
RelayGB is an ambitious challenge that will see hundreds of runners covering 3,100 miles in 119 non-stop, back to back marathons in May 2012, while raising £500,000 in aid of Brain Tumour UK.
Brain Tumour UK is the leading, caring charity committed to fighting brain tumours by providing support, funding research and raising awareness. Despite two people being diagnosed every hour in the UK with a primary brain tumour, only 2% of all cancer research funding in the UK goes to brain tumour research.
