We give our patients outstanding care to help them make the best of every moment

Story

On , my partner sadly lost her father to cancer of the oesophagus . He was just 62.  He lived his life to the full, was a stubborn individual -  a trait he has passed on to us both but was also very caring, loving, kind considerate and we could spend hours regaling you with stories full of joy and laughter which would have many of you in stitches!

I would like to recount a few words that Clare wrote about his last few days and those who made it easier for him and us.

"Trinity Hospice sits just off Clapham Common North Side in . An un-assuming building but with a lot of magic and comfort on the inside.

Our dad went into the hospice in his last days and you could see the stresses and strains of his illness leave him when he did. The staff were kind, friendly, sympathetic, ready to listen and treated him with the utmost respect.  They comforted him when he was frightened and we were never asked to leave because ‘visiting hours were over’. They ensured my mum could stay with him on his first night and the compassion shown by the social worker on duty inspired Clare to become one herself."

FYI - I done the jump last weekend.

8 hours of waiting for the go ahead was more than enough and it was a spontaneous thing.  The thought of raising money and knowing I had to go through with one of my biggest fears would be too much.

As if the fear of jumping was not enough I had another fear.  Just before the door opened at 10,000 feet, I proposed to Clare.  Was not sure if the screaming was a result of being pushed out of the plane or out of happiness. Either way she said yes when we were safely down!

Thanks for reading.
