In 1992 I sat at my mothers bedside and witnessed the devastation and sadness Cancer can bring to me and my family, on the 18th October 2015 I was called to my fathers bedside to witness the same demise to cancer over 4 days until his death, Having lost other younger members of my close family I decided it was time to make a difference.

I needed to turn this sadness and negativity into something positive, and therefore to celebrate the success of my parents life I want to do something that will hopefully help others overcome this horrible disease and raise funds for a cause that will help us "beat cancer sooner".

In April 2018 I shall reach a milestone birthday in my life of 50 years old and I have decided that I should undertake a life event which will support a significant cause and will help others. In the next 18 months I intend to fundraise by way of charity ball, charity disco, a full stage musical the Yorkshire three peaks and the national three peaks challenge  and the Schilthorn Switzerland (almost 10,000ft)  and Finally the big one Kilimanjaro (19341ft)as well as many other events to attain my personal goal of £20000 to charity.

Cancer brings heartache and sadness to 1 in 2 and leaves the people around us watching our loved ones suffer and for that reason having experienced this in my close family I decided to join Mike and make a difference.
Seeing this exciting opportunity and with Cancer now affecting 1 in 2 its important to me not to just sit back. Having lost relatives myself and seen how it affects friends around me I was encouraged seeing this and  decided that I want to try and make a difference too. I decided I'm joining Mike on this extreme challenge to not only raise awareness but more importantly to raise funds to help 'beat cancer sooner' and ultimately make a difference.
