Working at Selly Oak Hospital brings me into regular contact with the military and the young men (mainly) who are returning from theatre with multiple injuries and illnesses. Ongoing physical and psychological support is critical for them to return full health. The military do a lot for them but help from charities such as "Help for Heroes" provides additional support to these brave lads and lasses who are doing our countries bidding in a professional and selfless manner.

To help raise money for this cause I have decided to attempt to complete the coastal trail series, 7 trail marathons in 7 months. The courses are brutal, ranging from 26 to 30 miles, some with over 10000ft of vertical change. I completed the first race in five and a quarter grueling hours, the resolve to keep going came from reminding myself that this was nothing compared to trying to pick up your life and walk again with one functioning limb remaining.

The entry fees and travel costs I have covered myself, so anything you donate will go straight to the charity and there is no minimum that I have to raise.
