Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running for the Richard Burns Foundation. Richard Burns was a local man from Reading who became England's only World Rally Champion in 2001. He died of a brain tumour aged 34. This could happen to anyone - we was fit and in very good health. Please see the video about Richard.

The foundation are raising funds to open brain centres across the UK this will enable the treatment of brain injuries and illness. They are working closely with Richard's doctor the amazing Peter Hamlyn & his Brain & Spine Foundation. Peter has many patients and Michael Watson the boxer is one of his many success stories - he was told he would never walk, talk or eat independantly again after a serious brain injury in the ring. Peter has operated on Michael over 10 times and now is capable of living a normal life - he even completed the London marathon a few years ago.

Thank you for your support. Mike
