Story

Well on the 13th May i completed my marathon in 5 hours 18 min, it was a tough run and i wanted to enjoy the run more then i did but the most important thing to me was to get round.

I would like to personally thank everybody who has sponsored me, 1 teenager a day is told they have cancer and I know that the money you have so kindly donated makes a big difference.

This page well be open for 2 more weeks and then Jordan's mum well pull out a winner.

Many thanks

Mike

Here’s your chance to win a Zildjian A Custom EFX 18” Crash cymbal, signed by Blink-182’s drummer Travis Barker, and raise a splash of cash for the Teenage Cancer Trust too; a charity that enables young cancer sufferers to be treated in specialist wards which are geared to their specific needs. For the second year, I will be running in the Halstead & Essex Marathon on 13 May and everyone who sponsors me will be entered into a draw to win the donated cymbal.

I will be taking part in the marathon in memory of Jordan Terris; a talented drummer who lost his battle with cancer in 2007, aged only 15.  Last February I was involved in the Jordan Terris Memorial Drum Festival, organised by Jordan's parents Fiona and Kev. After watching the Teenage Cancer Trust film at the event I wanted to try and do more to help the charity. I ran the marathon in Jordan’s honour last May and people were very generous with their sponsorship, donating over £1800. This year I hope to raise even more money for the charity. Travis Barker was Jordan’s hero, and he kindly donated the cymbal from his kit when he heard what I was planning to do, so it's a very fitting prize!

Every £2.50 of sponsorship will earn one chance to win, so £25 will earn ten chances. There is no maximum donation. When I've completed the run, Jordan’s mum Fiona will pull a name out of the hat and the lucky winner will receive the cymbal and a pair of sticks. Please remember to tick the “I'm happy for Mike Dolbear to see my email address “ box when you donate so that I can get in touch if you win!

Please bear in mind that you cannot claim Gift Aid on this donation if you are entering into a prize draw. IF YOU ADD THE GIFT AID YOU WILL NOT BE ENTERED INTO THE DRAW. If you would rather not enter the draw for the cymbal, please consider ticking the Gift Aid box when making your donation and it will benefit  the trust.

Many thanks!

Mike
