Great Manchester Run 2018 · 20 May 2018 ·

We support young people and adults with mental health issues in Manchester. We're an independent, self-financed charity offering services to those most in need. We promote positive attitudes to mental health to challenge stigma, increase awareness and work for better mental health for all.

Story

For the past couple of years I have run the Greater Manchester 10k as  part of the University of Manchester's #PurpleWave, but this year I decided I needed a bit more of a challenge!

I am therefore running the Half Marathon in the morning then joining the Purple Wave in the afternoon for the 10k, a combined total of 31.1km! My aim is to run both with a combined total of 3 hours, although I am hoping to really push myself and go faster on the day!

Mental health issues can affect anybody at any stage in life, but students are particularly vulnerable as the journey through University can be a transformative part of a young adult's life. By running for Manchester Mind I am hoping to support better mental health for everyone, including all the students I work with, and I'm really looking forward to challenging myself to raise money for this worthy cause!

Please take a moment to donate, even just a couple of pounds, as every donation adds up to make a big difference.

On the day you can track me by downloading the Great Run App and entering my running numbers:
