Hello and thank you for coming to my Just Giving page in memory of my much loved wife Jill - to raise money for the St Lukes Cancer Centre "da Vinci Robot" appeal.
Jill touched so many hearts. And gave tirelessly of her own time to help raise money for the benefit of others - she was a VERY special person. Most recently she was actively engaged in raising money for cancer charities, the many good causes supported by our local Round Table/Tangent organisation and many local charities supported by our children’s school PPA.
In particular, Jill raised many thousands of pounds for Cancer charities by walking many many miles for Cancer Research. The generous support and encouragement from Jill’s family and many friends was always important to her. It played an active part in her determination to continue to participate and complete the walks even while undergoing her own treatment. They gave her an enormous sense of achievement. She also supported, with tremendous courage, the fund raising of our very special daughter Philippa and her friends, and also her cousins in their own fund raising activities. I am very sure that she would want her fund-raising to continue.
During Jill's treatment, she received the most fantastic care from the St Luke’s Cancer Centre at the in . The people were amazing and Jill greatly benefited from their tremendous care and treatment. It is difficult to describe how comforting it is to be treated in a place where the consultants and nurses have access to the very latest treatments and equipment, and who are engaged in research to improve and widen the treatment options available. We will always be eternally grateful for the care Jill received. And her family would like others to be able to benefit from this quality of care long into the future.
BY RAISING AS MUCH MONEY AS WE CAN for the da Vinci Robot system, we will be helping St Luke’s Cancer Centre to stay at the forefront of cancer care and treatment, and give even more people access to these life saving treatments. Sadly the price tag for the da Vinci Robot system is very high.
SO PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY - Because we would like everyone to be able to benefit from this quality of care and ultimately find a cure to this disease.
