It all started one night in Beijing in September last year when I discovered through the miracle of feedback that I needed to shed a couple of stone in weight and was challenged to run the Muller 10km in May this year. Buoyed by the progress (and enjoyment of preparing for the 10k) I entered a further challenge with my team mates at the superbly organised Caravan Ball in February this year to take on cycling from London to Paris. Perhaps a touch more than I could legitimately take on, it has been a great journey of preparation for the September event.

I feel privileged to be taking part, and unlike the Liverpool Sportive we did in July, will endeavour to keep up with my team mates for those many miles and hours we'll be in the saddle!

Caravan is a fantastic charity supporting people who have worked in the Grocery industry and who have now fallen on tough times.   Every penny we raise will help someone lead a better life than they can today.
