Story

For many years, it's been a bit of a dream to take on, and complete, the National 3 Peaks Challenge. The challenge is; climbing the highest peaks in Wales, England and Scotland in 24 hours - including travelling to each peak! So, starting at the foot of Snowdon and finishing within 24 hours at the foot of Ben Nevis (after the climb), is the goal. Many try, a few succeed but, it's not easy – otherwise everyone would do it!

Not to make this challenge too easy, the added handicap I have is my recovery from a serious motorbike accident in 2003. Nearly losing my lower left leg, it took 18 months hard work to rebuild (and learn how to walk). No extra pressure then!!!

So, I will be taking this challenge with 10 other "adventurers" from the organisation I work for (Legal & General). None of us are serious trekkers but, we are totally committed to the challenge and... success!

The charity I will be supporting is St Kentigern. St Kentigern Hospice is a charity in St Asaph North Wales, providing specialist care for people living with a terminal or life limiting illness in North East Clwyd. They care for patients and their families providing specialist support, physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual support. They have a 8 bedded In-Patient Unit and a Day Unit. They currently receive less than 20% funding from statutory sources towards their £1.6m annual running costs, equivalent to approx £4,600 per day. St Kentigern rely heavily on donations and fundraising from all walks of life. So, anything I, and you, can help raise for them will assist those whose need is greater than mine/ours. Thanks for taking the time to read this and supporting. Every penny you give will go to this great cause!

Anyway, here's the blurb about what to do...

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
