In memory of Mike Robinson

Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children's Hospice provide specialist palliative care to adults and children across the Fylde Coast and much needed support for their families. Our services are available free of charge, but with limited government funding we need to raise £14 million every year.

Story

<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:DoNotOptimizeForBrowser /> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--> <p>Mike was one of life's gentlemen; gracious, kind, strong.&nbsp; But above all he was a man that loved life.&nbsp; Our life took us around the world, sharing four decades of marriage with Joan in London, Wales, Belgium, Denmark, Southport, Spain, Preston and finally St. Annes; and through all of our travels as a loving family we had each other and much shared laughter.</p> <p>The past four years saw Mike take on a different journey, one which he met with his usual strength and determination. This journey brought us into contact with the Trinity Hospice.&nbsp;</p> <p>There are no words that give justice to the group of people who were dedicated not only to his well being, but to us his family as well.&nbsp; They took Mike into their hearts and looked after him with the dignity that he deserved, and kept him laughing until the end.&nbsp; The respect and dedication of the staff brought comfort to us as a family, and comfort to Mike during his final days, treating him like the gentleman he was.</p> <p>G&amp;T for breakfast, football and rugby on the telly and constant care, love and support are our highlights from his time spent in this wonderful place. Trinity Hospice is a Charity, a Charity that touches the lives of many families.&nbsp; They took Mike into their hearts and that is a debt we as a family hold will old close for ever.&nbsp; And whilst we can never repay them for the tenderness they showed both us and Mike during these final moments, we are certainly going to try.&nbsp;</p> <p>That is why we ask all of you not to send flowers or tokens to us during this time of loss, but instead to put that some money back into the Hospice so it can continue to provide families with that same tenderness and care which we were so lucky to find.&nbsp; Let them continue their good work, let them continue to serve those families who need a supporting shoulder during their most difficult times.</p> <p>All donations will go directly to the Hospice and directly into lives of families who need support, comfort, care and tenderness.</p> <p>Please give, these are the good guys!</p> <p>"we shall win"</p> <p>Mike Robinson</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p>
