My story
Dear all,
I have been the victim of an outrageous injustice and need your help!
My PA has had me arrested for the 'crime' of mentioning my Oscar-worthy role in the seminal classic Escape to Victory one too many times. I always thought people would like to know that there's more to me than my 357 appearances for Manchester City but apparently my staff are weary of hearing me talk of my bid for Hollywood stardom alongside Michael Caine and Sylvester Stallone. Some people don't know cinema magic when they see it.
Anyway, to secure my release I need to raise £1,000 'bail' money of which every penny will go to St Ann's Hospice here in Manchester. St Ann's is a wonderful organisation which cares for more than 3,000 people with life-limiting illnesses every year. The hospice needs to raise £16,000 every single day just to keep their doors open so please give generously and you can help to not just secure my release but make a real difference to local people too. For more information about the hospital please visit their website, www.sah.org.uk
Manchester City FC is supporting St Ann's as one of it's chosen charities this season and recently made a £25,000 donation to fund the purchase and adaptation of a vehicle to be used as an ambulance to transport patients to and from the hospice. To learn more about St Ann's and our partnership with them please visit http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/City-in-the-community/2010/CITC-Giving-introducing-St-Anns
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Some people have suggested they would pay to keep me in for longer but I need to be back in time for the Kiev game so please dig deep and do what you can to help St Ann's Hospice.
Many thanks for your time and generosity.
