WHEN?

August – December 2019:

https://www.clipperroundtheworld.com/race/leg/leg-1  London to Punta del Este, Uruguay https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punta_del_Este

https://www.clipperroundtheworld.com/race/leg/leg-2 Punta Del Este  to Capetown, South Africa https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_Town

https://www.clipperroundtheworld.com/race/leg/leg-3 Capetown to Freemantle, WA https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fremantle

WHY?

Challenge   *   Kick-starting my 3rd Age   *   New Skills,  Disciplines,  Experiences   *    Vital Causes

HOW?

Training - Despite practically no sailing experience, Clipper have been training me at their Centre in Gosport, Hants; introducing me to bowlines, running backstays, coffee grinders and Nav stations. Hard work, physically and intellectually

Camaraderie -  Everyone is committed to giving and receiving best possible experiences for themselves and crewmates

Kit – The Boats and their rigs are top notch quality, but pared of all frills, gizmos or devices which might add unnecessary weight or slow the boat down. Allocated luggage weights per crewmember are also kept to a minimum because every spare inch is needed for food, spares and provisions.

Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of UNICEF, ANTRUK (Antibiotic Research UK) and North Yorkshire Youth and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
