UPDATE: I made it to the top on the morning of Friday, 18th September!
I am heading off to Tanzania in September to try to climb the highest mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro (5,895m or 19,340ft) and I would like to raise as much money as possible for a local charity, the Tanzania Development Trust.
By sponsoring me, you will ensure that there is a longer-lasting legacy from the training and inevitable pain of the climb – as well as providing a little extra incentive to get out of the tent at –20 degrees C on summit night!
The funds raised will go towards the development of a community library in Songea, one of the poorest regions in Tanzania where most local people are too poor to own books. The development will make the library an inviting place for all local children, so that they will be encouraged to visit, to learn to enjoy books and gain in literacy which will further their education and enjoyment of life.
