With a new year ahead of us I was determined not to let it pass by without achieving one of my dreams. Having been inspired by the film The Bucket List which features Jack Nicolson and Morgan Freeman, I have signed up to fly an Extra 300 aerobatics plane alongside a Red Arrows trained pilot in the Go Loopy Challenge 2010.
The Extra 300 plane is a state of the art high performance aerobatics machine and the flying equivalent of a Formula 2 racing car. I'll be sitting at the front of the plane doing loops, rolls and stall turns all in the name of charity (madness I know).
As well as realising a dream of mine I am doing this to raise money for The Cyrenians homeless charity. With the recent cold winter and snow you can appreciate just how serious it is to be homeless in Scotland. Can you imagine being without a home, heat or food in the weather we have just experienced? So this is your chance to help a very worthwhile charity, as well as see me risk life and limb flying an aerobatics plane.
In addition to raising money for charity, I am offering someone else the opportunity to join me in this mad adventure. All you have to do is donate money and you, or a nominated friend, will be entered into a prize draw from which I will select a lucky pilot for a second plane. The prize winner will have the opportunity to pilot their own Extra 300 plane and join me in this fabulous experience.
So why not realise one of your own dreams and join me or, if you are horrified at the idea of flying acrobatically yourself then why not nominate your partner, husband/ wife, colleague or friend.
I need to raise £2,000 to achieve this dream which, of course, goes to the Cyrenians. Whatever your feelings are about flying, and this mad cap scheme, I would ask you to please donate to this very worthwhile cause and be part of the Go Loopy Challenge 2010.
