TRT Uganda 2012 Tour · 25 May 2012

Since 2002, the Tag Rugby Trust has worked in 8 countries around the world. Post Covid, our focus is very much in Zimbabwe. We use rugby as a vehicle to “Build Futures” through social outreach programmes in the community. Sustainability and local ownership are central pillars to our approach.

Story

Thanks for opening this up..

I'm spending two weeks from 25th May working with the Tag Rugby Trust to help the children of Uganda develop life skills through participation in Tag Rugby and life coaching events.

You'd be forgiven for suspecting that there isn't a chance in hell of me staying in a tent for two weeks. Please suspend disbelief and dig deep in your pocket for some loose change, or preferably something resembling a wedge of banknotes.

Costs associated with my being there, including flights etc. are paid for by myself, so all of your donation will go directly to the TRT organisation in Uganda. What you can spare, however small, will help greatly in providing year round coaching with a Young Leadership training program, long after I've shuffled back to London.

As a bonus, should you know anyone who has complete (new) sports strips that are unused, surplus to requirements or destined for the bin for whatever reason, please put me in touch with the person concerned. The kit will likely be worn by the children years after they've left the field of play. It probably goes without saying, but just in case; any sponsorship messages or logos will need to be suitable for children of 8 to 14 years.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please, dig deep..
