Story

We are organising a sponsored in door cycling event “Miles 4 Myeloma” using “spinning bikes” at the Cotswold District Council Leisure Centre Cirencester to help raise money for Myeloma UK.

Our eldest daughter, Lisa, has been diagnosed with having multiple Myeloma. Myeloma is an increasingly common cancer of the plasma cells. Plasma cells are found in the bone marrow and are responsible for protecting the body against infection. Current treatments can be effective at halting Myeloma for longer and improving quality of life, but at present there is no cure.

As long time members of Leamington C & AC and current active members of Corinium Cycling Club and with grand children who ride at National level for Solihull Cycling Club and Rapha Condor CC, we are organising an indoor cycling event at the Cotswold District Council Leisure Centre in Cirencester on Sunday 22 April 2012 to raise money for Myeloma UK. Myeloma UK is the only organisation dealing exclusively with Myeloma in the UK.

The event will extend over 3 hours using high quality keiser “spinning bikes”. Volunteer qualified instructors will be on hand to conduct sessions.

Myeloma UK have been an invaluable source of help and resource to our family and they hope to raise as much money as possible to donate to the charity.

Any amount you pledge to give, however small, is much appreciated.
