Millie's Charity Half Marathon and Skydive

Charity Skydive · 30 October 2018
Hello I'm Millie and I study Biomedical Science at the University of Sheffield. I have been volunteering for Anthony Nolan through Sheffield Marrow (a student run branch of the charity) for almost 3 years now and it's the best thing I've ever been part of. I have decided to take on the challenge of a Skydive (9th March) and the Sheffield Half Marathon (14th April) to raise money for Anthony Nolan as the work they do is incredible. I would be so grateful if you could help me reach my target!
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. They do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. Anthony Nolan also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. They won’t stop until they save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings Anthony Nolan closer to that day.
Where will the money go?
It costs £40 to sign someone up to the stem cell register - the money I raise will go towards this along with their research and support!
77% is spent on lifesaving transplants, 8% on research to make transplants more successful, 8% is spent on raising funds, 6% on education and awareness and just 1% is spent on governance.
